SALSA BASICS: Fundamental Skills
5-Class Series, 1:00 – 2:00
In this class you will gain an in-depth understanding of the basics. Most classes spend between 5 minutes to an hour teaching the basics. This series focus almost entirely on basic technique. Salsa Basics cover balance, posture, upper/lower body coordination, arm movement, hip movement, weight transfer, connection, developing frame, cross-body lead and follow technique, right turn lead and follow technique, left turn, side to side, front cumbia, back cumbia, and back break. It will give you the foundation you need to look good and have fun on the dance floor. Each week will build upon the previous week. Each technique will be broken down and demonstrated so the student can easily grasp it. Mastery of the basics will give you the skills and confidence needed to develop into a good dancer.
PARTNERING I: Footwork & Combination
5-Class Series, 2:00 – 3:00
This is no ordinary beginner’s class. It is geared for students with a solid, comprehensive foundation in Salsa Basics (see description above). If you already have an in-depth understanding of the Salsa Basics, you’re ready for this class. At this level, you will learn lead/follow techniques, transitions, footwork, space management, and develop the skills to easily learn combinations in a manner that really connects with your partner. After taking Salsa Basics and this series, you will have the techniques and a repertoire of moves that will make any dancer at any level happy to dance with you.
PARTNERING 2: STYLING & Combinations
5-Class Series, 3:00 – 4:00
Intermediate dancers will be learning more complex patterns and combinations. Each week will contain new patterns or build on the previous week. Styling will be taught and incorporated into the combinations to give you more flair and sabor. Every five weeks we will be teaching new styling and combinations to give you the opportunity to repeat the series and continue learning..
BACHATA I: Fundamentals Skills
5-Class Series, 5:00 – 6:00
Learn Learn the fundamentals of this sensual, romantic dance. In this class, we teach beginning lead and follow techniques along with basic footwork and core body movement. Salsa clubs play a mix of both Salsa and Bachata. You can take both Salsa and Bachata together if you want. Bachata will also help you learn Salsa faster by teaching body isolation and connection. And it’s double the fun
